David Milliband visited the Mecca Bingo Club in South shields and was met by the Mecca chief, Ian Burke to discuss taxation issues. The foreign secretary called at the bingo club and promised to take the issues back to the chancellor in time for the next budget. Rank have already taken the government to court over taxation issues and are awaiting a decision on this very issue of VAT within a matter of weeks. Mecca are continually applying pressure on the government to review the VAT issue regardless of the legislative changes that may or may not be brought about. |
