A Gala Bingo Caller was reported in the Daily Mirror to be involved in a suspected £10,000 scam. The caller has since been sacked and his girlfriend also a Gala employee who attempted to claim the win is suspended and under investigation in co-operation with the gambling commission. Bingo Clubs up and down the country have become aware of this situation and worried about the impact this could have on the integrity of the bingo game, however it also brings to light that although an attempt to defraud the bingo game was made, the caller and the staff involved were unsuccessful and they now face the full arm of the law. Gala have taken all the necessary steps to ensure the bingo games remain protected and cannot be fixed. In any gambling establishment, their will be inevitably someone who tries to deceive their employers and a very experienced caller who knows every aspect of the calling unit has proven that it is impossible to infiltrate the tight security measures that are in place in all reputable licensed bingo clubs. Gala Bingo is Europe's leading bingo operator and part of the Gala Coral Group employing more than 19,000 staff with over 5 million members. In excess of £28 million is paid out every week in bingo wins. |
