Rank are still awaiting a decision on the VAT argument that has brought about a court case against the HMRC. The initial hearing was won by Rank who operate the Mecca bingo chain of clubs and the HMRC put in an appeal that could see the treasury paying out millions of VAT claims from land based bingo companies. The appeal hearings were scheduled for Friday 17 March 2009 and also today. Bingo Supermarket are waiting for news of the decision to break. A decision is expected to be made this week. |
