Many land based bingo clubs are hoping for an energy company to announce a cut in energy costs. Money savings expert announced this morning on GMTV that he predicted companies would be announcing cuts of between 5-20% on fuel bills. Many bingo clubs pay over £40,000 a year in energy bills, so a 20 % drop would equate to an annual saving of around £8,000 a year that would appear straight on the bottm line. The ongoing battles with the government over VAT would be enough to regenerate many struggling bingo clubs if the decision to return taxes to the industry, the final decision is expected to be announced between March and July this year.
