Reports are just coming in that the Managing Director, Simon Longbottom of Gala Bingo has resigned from his senior post.
At this moment, details are sketchy but a press report is expected shortly to confirm the news. The move comes just 24 hours after BingoSupermarket reported on the late bid for a controlling share of Gala Coral was tabled from the American Investors Blackstone.
This will be the second time this year a major bingo group will see the departure of a Managing Director following on from Simon Wykes of Mecca Bingo earlier this year if the report is confirmed.
Uncertainty has surrounded Gala Coral this year after poor trading results and the desperation for restructuring its finances in its bid to release cash. However with the news that a finance agreement was near to a close and interests coming in from investors, the news of this resignation has come as a surprise to outsiders of the Bingo firm. Bingo Supermarket will report further on this as the news unfolds. |
