Sale Grandmother Chosen as Bingo Buddy of the Year |

A grandmother from Sale has been unveiled as the Bingo Buddy of the Year.
Hilda Telford, of Maple Road, Brooklands, was chosen over other entrants to win the award on Sunday 28th February at the Mecca Bingo Club on Washway Road.
Lynda Gomm, of Grange Road had put the caring forward the caring grandmother forward for the award. Hilda, a mother of 6 and keen bingo player commented she “very surprised” to hear that she had been nominated.
The two ladies share a 10-year-old grandson, James. His mum, Lynda’s daughter and Hilda’s daughter-in-law, died when he was five.
“Hilda phones and visits when she knows I am depressed and goes out of her way to cheer me up.
“She’s very thoughtful and full of laughs,” Lynn said.
The Mecca General Manager, Cheryl Gifford, stated that the Sale Club, had been inundated with entrants. “Hilda Telford really stood out as a shining example of a true friend,” she said. |
