Festival-goers at "The Absolute Gay Theatre Festival" can look forward to bingo, photography exhibits and a special musical production about the Irish Eurovision entries.
Approximately 20 productions will take part in the annual festival of drama, music and art in Belfast. Artists from America, Holland, England, South Africa and Israel will join local artists from May 3rd to the 16th.
Festival director John H Pickering commented "The Absolut Gay Theatre Festival Dublin is a brilliant opportunity to see some fantastic international theatre and an insight into gay culture for those who maybe wouldn't get that chance elsewhere," The Festival was founded in 2004 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Oscar Wilde, in his native city. With an emphasis on new or recent international and Irish works with a broadly gay theme or relevance, the Festival has grown to become the largest event of its type in the world. |
