Bingosupermarket can report Gala Bingo has a new Managing Director that will be starting the role on 21st May. The decision is likely to cause directors at rivals Mecca Bingo some concern.

Simon Wykes the former Managing Director at Mecca Bingo is to take on the role at Gala. Mecca decided to replace Simon Wykes last May in an attempt to bring around change in the company. The decision, especially as Wykes had taken Mecca through difficult times and when compared to other operators within the bingo industy he had clearly done an excellent job.

This will not be the first time the Wykes has worked for Gala Bingo, and as the position of MD is vacant at Gala since Simon Longbottom left earlier this year and was more of a case of when and not if he would be offered the role. No doubt with a strong bingo background Gala will reap the rewards of their latest appointment.
