We recently reported how an imposter, at a Mecca Bingo Club successfully claimed a full-house winners £500 prize money. The fraudster had managed to con the Mecca staff into handing over the money claiming she was collecting it for her friend. She then quickly left the building.
While Mecca Bingo, ensured that the real winner received the prize money they were owed, justice has been served as the shameless lady, Clair Borrill, 27, was caught and prosecuted. She must not payback the money and compensation as well. Clair of Victoria Street, South-port, appeared before magistrates this week charged with fraud.
Having pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing, she was made to pay a total of £700 in compensation, fines, fees and court charges.
The fraud had occured on a busy Sunday evening session, which draws one of the largest crowds of the week with big-money jackpots. |
