The BBC are looking for Bingo Callers to feature in a TV show, John Bishop’s Britain. John Bishop, a comedian from Liverpool, will host the show and he will be talking to people about funny stories and experiences they have had in various professions. Due to the nature of bingo, the BBC are interested in those that perform the callers role and it will be one of the segments of the community that John Bishop will focus on.
Bingosupermarket has already spoken to a number of operators and seems there are a number of candidates that are interested in taking part. Readers should take account that the show will focus on all walks of life, in fact other people either within the bingo industry or in other industries are encouraged to apply. The Objective TV producers are looking for ‘characters’ who have ‘outgoing’ personalities to discuss all aspects of modern life, so everything from politics and sport to love and relationships and growing up in the UK. Over the years that I have worked in the industry some of the tales I have heard from staff and management alike would entertain any audience. Those therefore that have been working in the bingo for many years and fit the criteria but are not bingo callers would more than likely still make excellent candidates.
Bingosupermarket are particularly interested in hearing from candidates, as we feel this is an ideal opportunity to gain positive exposure in relation to our favourite game. We will provide support and media coverage for candidates that are interested in taking part, email us at
