While the famous Britain’s Got Talent has just finished, Mecca Bingo in Bolton is getting ready for its own final round to raise funds for charity.
The bingo club is running the Mecca’s Got Talent competition to find a local entertainer and raise funds for the town’s Marie Curie Nurses Appeal. Including some of the clubs staff more than 20 people were chosen to audition in the contest and the six finalists will perform in the grand final tomorrow night at 7pm at the Moor Lane Mecca Club. The finalists are: Laura Peacock, of Horwich; Steve Haywood and Keith Burgess, from Farnworth; Donna Morris, from Tonge Moor; Louise Gover, from Great Lever; and employee Kerry-Anne Booth, from Breightmet.
The panel of judges will choose a winner who will then go on to the regional and national finals. The top prize is £3,000 and the chance to perform at Wembley.
During the fundraising events collections and auctions raise money for the charity appeal. Mecca Bingo senior membership manager, Will Clarke commented: “We’re all looking forward to the club final and seeing the performances. We also want to raise enough for as many hours of nursing care as possible.” |
