A 20 year old lady will be celebrating her 21st birthday in style next month after scooping the national bingo prize. Having only joined the Opera Bingo club in Penrith in January, the young lady managed to call the full house on just 38 numbers, winning herself £22,000.

The club manager Ethel Nicholls commented: “It is absolutely fabulous. Everybody started cheering and she was shaking. Everybody is delighted for her.”

Mrs Nicholls added: “We are getting a lot of younger players nowadays. We’ve had an exciting couple of weeks at the club, as last Thursday we had a young lady win our monthly holiday game, a luxury four-star holiday for two.”
