The Beacon Bingo club in Loughborough is throwing a number of unique promotions as one of their key members of staff over the last 17 years reaches retirement. Mick Newitt is well known to the customers of the club and the company are throwing a number of special promotions to mark the event this week with a chance to play for £6,500 in prize money for just £6.50 in both the afternoon and the evening.

Entertainment is planned for the day and members are being treated to a free buffet between 4pm – 6pm.

Mick started working for the club on 28th April 1993 and has taken on a number of roles, including in the early days looking after the dog of the company’s owner Jimmy Thomas. Mick will be remembered as the clubs main stage bingo caller though as that is where he has spent the majority of his time in addition to preparing the meals at the buffet unit. Bingosupermarket spoke to his son and number of the clubs former management. Mick’s son, Kevin worked for the club for a number of years servicing the gaming machines and remembers his Dad helping him get the job. Clearly the Beacon was like a second home to Mick. “Mick worked longer hours at that club than anyone I can remember, he was there first thing in the morning and last thing at night”, former House Manager, Jamie commented. Mick clearly loved working in the bingo industry and will no doubt be somewhat sad to be retiring. After all these years the members at the club will be sad to seem him leave.

Former managers at the club, Dave, Jamie, Mark and Ian all wish Mick a happy retirement and all the best for his future.
