Bingo Scotland is part of the Cashcade network of sites which includes the likes of Think Bingo, Foxy Bingo and Get Minted amongst other sites. It was set up to provide the definitive online location for Scots to play bingo and whilst the site welcomes players from across the UK, the chat games are run by Scots and the community spirit is firmly Scottish.

The site is powered by the Bridgend software which is one of the best on the market. When you first log onto the site you can see instantly it is somewhat different to many sites wit the colour scheme and graphics being very Scottish. The site offers new players a very generous offer with £30 of free play, however this is somewhat confusing. When you click on the link there are no details of how you can get you free money and in fact there were no details anywhere on the site that we could find. We can reveal that if you deposit just £10 you will get £30 for free.

The layout of Bingo Scotland is very simple and players will certainly not find themselves getting lost. However, I did find myself looking for things that you expect to find on a bingo site that were just not there or returned error links.

An example would be when I clicked on the specials tab I was expecting to see the site promotions set out in a way that would attract a players interest.

The site was advertising 4 promotions as shown in the screen shot. For saying the site is part of the marketing company Cashcade which as mentioned are behind the likes of Foxy Bingo it looks like this site is maintained by someone on work experience at the company. There are no graphics and the text looks as if it has simply been cut and pasted out of notepad with no effort to make keywords stand out. The fact that I am having to work hard to find reasons to play is not a good sign. Again there are no details on bonuses and while we are aware from past experience the site offered a 50% reload bonus the only mention of this is in the T&C's. While I was on the page I decided to have a look at the jackpot and chat games. For the main part a lot of the information that players would look for is not there. It does tell you when the progressive jackpot games are player though - 12 times a day on the hour from 12:30pm - is this for real, on most sites the progressive jackpots are available on every nearly every game! It gets worse. I then clicked on the link "For general games information click here" - it returned a 404 error page404 error pages. Clearly Cashcade don't take this site that seriously! and guess what all the links you can see for the coverall rules returned the same

So when you click the play button you are taking to the lobby area below, which again is fairly simple to navigate.

The design and layout is again rather basic and in comparison to many sites rather poor. The menu items and selections don't clearly stand out and the instant games menu items is no better. On a positive note the simplicity would be attractive to those that are regulars to the site.

The site offers both the traditional 90 ball and 75 ball pattern bingo and players can easily choose from the lobby the room types they prefer. Pre-pay games were available for the four promotional games that were being played in the week of the review. The Chat Hosts were very friendly in all the games rooms that we visited and the players seemed to enjoy the Chat games being played and were also welcoming to newcomers.

There were a variety of stakes to suit different budgets and while the prize money did not seem that attractive given the number of players the chances of winning were very good. It was clear that the majority of the players knew each other and it would appear that attraction of the site was more to do with community spirit than the winning of big prizes.

The site has variety of slot games with various stake options which open up into a new window. You can take part in some of the instant games for free by selection the demo mode which will give you the opportunity to try it out and see shether you enjoy it or not.

Again there were a number of casino type games with the likes of Roulette, Poker and Blackjack which can be tried in demo. The graphics and game play on all of the casino games are fantiastic and its well worth giving them a try.

Lastly I would mention the withdrawal constraints. To avoid losing the balance of any bonuses you must wager your deposit and bonus 2 times. It is not as good as some sites, but given the bonus is very generous and better than some sites the bonus terms are very good when compared to sites that offer similar bonus levels.

In summary if you enjoy other Cashcade sites and you enjoy playing in small rooms with other Scottish players then this site will more than likely be very attractive to you. If however, you haven't got a particular desire to play in a Scottish community based site, or you have high expectations in terms of prize money and service you might think that you are missing out here.
